On This Date in History: On December 5, 1974, the National Football League announced that it had voted membership to Seattle Professional Football, Inc. The Seattle Seahawks were born.
Here is a shot from their first game, played on September 12, 1976. The game took place at the Seattle Kingdome against the St. Louis Cardinals. The first year franchise put up a good fight but fell to the Cards 30 - 24.
The Khazar Khanate at its greatest extent in the 9th century
After the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 c.e. and up to the creation of the State of Israel in 1948, the Khazars were the only nominally #Jewish nation in the world. At the time the rest of the western world monarchs were converting to Christianity and Islam was cementing its influence in Arabia and the Middle East, the Khazar king was convinced by the ideas of Judaism and lasted until they were destroyed by the invading Mongol hordes in the 13th century.
